My name is Peter Tran and I am an artist based in Bristol. I graduated from University West of England with a Fine Art degree, where I have gone on to fulfil various commissions as well as create my own comic book, Varuna.

 

My comic book work attempts to explore conventional genre tropes within science fiction, and then subvert them by injecting realism into the storytelling elements. This is nothing new. Science fiction has always reflected current day anxieties and critiqued the nature of external world, to which there has been a strong tradition of libertarianism with sci-fi writers. On the whole, my work tends to deal with serious ideas such as freedom, peace, liberty, justice, and intergalactic space robots.
